Don't take this personally, but far more often than not, you are not going to hear back from an employer on that resume you sent or the application you took two hours to complete. That's just the nature of the beast. It does not hurt to try and follow up but don't chase people. Follow up a time or two and let it go if nothing is happening. If they are interested, they will let you know. In the mean time, keep moving forward. They used to say in the car business, "It's not a sale until she crosses the curb and the check don't bounce." What I mean by that is you do not have a job until you are actually working. A verbal offer for you to start next week is nothing more. I've seen it before. "Oh, we decided not to fill the position at this time." "We lost the funding." You get the idea. DON'T TAKE IT PERSONALLY. Keep moving forward. Dehumanizing is a strong word.
