The Phone!

One thing I come across at work all too often is full voice mails, voice mails not set up or no voice mail at all. This is no way to find a job! Yes, you as a job seeker, are constantly bombarded by unsolicited calls for schools, trainings and tons of other things you have no interest or need for. Still, you cannot cut this most important communication tool. I don't care who you are or how great a resume you may have, if an employer cannot reach you, that's it. They will move on to another qualified person they can reach. Keep up your voice mail. It is important. While we are here. Avoid the following: 1) Music rings. We all know people NEVER stereotype? Right?? The song you pick may sound great to you but how about an older hiring manager? It could either be great or an instant turn off. Maybe they don't care but why take the risk?
